A very rainy day here in Guildford so decided to get out the camera and have a play with the macro lens for the first time in ages. I bought Tim a “cool jewel” ice tray for Christmas and thought filling these with water, slightly coloured with cranberry juice, might make for some interesting shots. Didn’t use anything fancy, Tim was standing at the side with a torch at one point to shine light onto the right spot! These were the best ones – what do you think?

    Nice!

Did you see my blog mini-series on building a light tent? I suspect it would really help for shots like this.

What macro lens are you using? I keep meaning to get one.

The lens is an AF Micro Nikkor, 60mm f/2.8 D. I think it’s a really great lens. It’s superb being able to get such detail.

Thanks Andy, yes I have been looking at your light tent instructions today and think we’ll have to try constructing something similar. Watch this space!
