Mike Sweet’s replacement for “(recommended)”

Last week Mike added some code to CUPS to remove “(recommended)” from PPD NickName attributes, quite rightly saying that static recommendations without the benefit of the full context are not much use. Now he’s proposing a better system.

See the full text of it, but here is a summary: new PPD attributes are proposed, to store information such as how well fully the capabilities of the printer are supported by the driver, and how long it takes to print a variety of test pages.
