I just had to reply to you when I saw the Pixie House at Boscastle in Cornwall. The Pixie House was washed away when the flood hit Boscastle a few years ago and this would be a very important picture to the local history I am sure. I haven't been back to Boscastle since the flood so I'm not sure what is in its place. I did find VueScan, http://www.hamrick.com/ a commercial but inexpensive scanning program that started out specialising in film scanners and is available for Linux. It runs perfectly and scans my slides fast and easy - so the method is highly recommendable. This could cut down your processing time by a factor of 5 or 6. The prices for scanners continue to come down and the tech just keeps getting better.
