Yes, use cdrecord directly. Xcdroast, while being based on cdrecord,
does not support pg. Apparently, it has its own implementation of
the device scan which works only with sg. Worse still, the author
has decided that since his scanner can't find pg devices he should
disable the pg support in the copy of cdrecord that he includes.
Get the genuine cdrecord 1.6.1 or later, and build that. If you
still have problems, get back to me.
