* Some printer manufacturers (HP) think that a successful negotiation is
always indicated by setting XFlag high, despite what the standard says.
Work-around: ignore XFlag for nibble mode.
Status readback is working, albeit not as reliably as 2.2.1. If
someone who has hardware that actually provides status readback would like
to find out why and fix the problem, feel free.. ;-)
