Hi Tim,
Well, The light at the end of the tunnel was not too bright ;-)
I did install kernel 2.2.4 (#uname -r now reports 2.2.4)
#insmod parport -> still ok
#insmod parport_pc -> still gives
/lib/modules/2.2.1/misc/parport_pc.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
I tried 2 different conf.modules
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
&
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
options parport_pc io=0x378 irq=7
but without any success...
