[PARPORT] Using the PARIDE driver with a Sony Superstation

Has anyone tried to use a Sony Superstation tape backup drive with the
PARIDE kernel driver.

I built the drivers as modules into the kernel. I then issued the
following commands:
insmod paride (loads ok)
insmod epat (loads ok)
insmod pt
cannot detect ATAPI tape drive!

I have an old i486 with my parallel port on a standard I/O card. Does
the parallel port have to be EPP I have an SPP parallel port.
