[PARPORT] Getting a new parallel port....?

I am trying to get my Sony Superstation working on my RH5.2 kernel
2.2.1. PT autoprobes for my drive and it says no valid ATAPI tape drive
found. I have an old AT style i486. With a generic I/O ISA card.
CompUSA has a parallel port for free after rebate this week. Should I
buy it? It is an ECP/EPP parallel port.
