[PARPORT] Daisy chain CDrom and printer?

I'm a newbie, but here's what I've figured out so far:

1) I can mount and access my OnSpec CDrom connected
through the parallel port after insmod paride/insmod
on26/insmod pcd

2) If instead of doing 1) above, I disconnect the CDrom and
plug my printer straight into the parallel port, print tools
recognizes my printer as being on lp0 and even prints a lovely
PostScript test even though it's not a PostScript printer.

3) Once I've activated the CDrom as in 1) above, the system
cannot detect a printer on lp0.

If I understand correctly, I can use parport to "daisy chain"
devices on the parallel port. Does this mean I can use my
printer which is plugged into the back of the CDrom?

If so, could you give me some help with the parport command
(or is it a module?). What I've seen of the command has me
totally confused at this point.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Bev
