How's it going,

I have installed the patch-2.2.10-ppdev4 in my linux machine. The device is shown after an lsmod as 99 ppdev. I would like to use the driver to read and write from a piece of hardware that is set up to use the parallel port in EPP IEEE1284 transfer mode. There was a program called deviceid for the ppdev driver that I found on the parport web page, which I tried to use to read from the device but it did not work. The command I used to read was: read(fd,data_buffer).
I would appreciate any ppdev user program examples that will set up a parallel port in EPP mode, and perform a read and/or write to a peripheral. Thanks.
