[PARPORT] Data corruption with Avatar Shark

Hi,
    I have an alphalinux box with a Lava Parallel PCI card in it and a
Avatar Shark drive. I'm able to load the modules fine and mount the
shark disk, but when I try to copy large files, I get data corruption
(i.e., if I copy linux-2.2.13.tar.bz2 to /usr/src and then try to
decompress it, I get an error message). Also, when copying the file, I
get the following message on the screen (and in dmesg): pda: do_pd_read:

ABRT MCR IDNF MC UNC ??? TMO
The drive works fine in Win98, no data corruption whatsoever, although I
haven't tested with i386 linux.
