It looks as if you've compiled a custom kernel. What options pertaining
to the parallel port did you choose? Try skipping the paride and going
to the next command. Also, what commands did you type to compile? (make
bzImage, make modules, etc.)
Or am I wrong about the kernel thing?
In any case, I'd like to take a look at the output of dmesg.
