[PARPORT] SanDisk CF reader problem

I own the parallel port version of the SanDisk ImageMage CF reader. I
am running RH6.1 on a Dell R400 and trying to get my parallel port to
work with the reader. The reader works fine under windows, and my
parallel port has no problems printing to my HP DeskJet 500 under Linux
or Windows. I'm loading (as modules) paride, epat, and pd (or pf, not
sure which is correct yet). When I insmod pd (or pf) the access light
on the reader lights once, and then I get the message

pd: pd version 1.05, major 45, cluster 64, nice 0
pda: Autoprobe failed
pd: no valid drive found

I have already changed my cmos to use EPP mode (have also tried ECP,
"auto", and "bi-directional" to no avail).

cat /proc/parport/0/hardware produces:

base: 0x378
irq: none
dma: none
modes: SPP,PS2,EPP

I would greatly appreciate any help with this. I am relatively new to
Linux.

This is the output of dmesg:
