Hi,
Thanks very much for replying to my Query on HP Laser Jet 6L Printer.
I was also one of the victim of this error message till a moment earlier
after I made the required changes in the /etc/conf.modules file ( Thanks
Tim Waugh and Sahambi ) but still the port wasn't autodetected still.
Later i tried to insert the module (parport_pc) using 'insmod', but it
gave the error
>>'insmod: /lib/modules/2.2.7/misc/parport_pc.o: insmod parport_lowlevel
>>failed'
These are the steps I took to solve the problem.
I had configured my HP Colorado 5GB external Tape Backup Device, so I had
loaded the following modules
paride
epat
pt
Since I had to configure my printer also, I removed all the three modules pt
epat
paride
Next I inserted the following modules in the following order
parport_pc
paride
epat
pt
Now both my /dev/lp0 is autodetected and also able to access my HP
Colorado 5GB External Tape drive.
Thanks Again for giving me the input and I hope friends who receive the error
>>'[PARPORT] parport_pc: Device or resource busy'
can retry accordingly.
Thanx
Regards
Mohan P
