Hi,
I am using a Iomega Zip for awhile,
with no problems with the kernel 2.0.36.
But I passed to the kernel seies 2.2 and then I never succeeded in
installing the ppa driver (it is still working with windows 95, so is not
a problem of plugging):
If I do it directly I get:
[[root@coltrane /home/gillard]# insmod ppa
/lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/ppa.o: unresolved symbol parport_enumerate_Rbc6d420a
/lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/ppa.o: unresolved symbol parport_unregister_device_Rfa973b06
/lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/ppa.o: unresolved symbol parport_claim_R7d06c772
/lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/ppa.o: unresolved symbol parport_register_device_R6b29a231
/lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/ppa.o: unresolved symbol parport_release_R9ea0a43b
So I usually try modprobe instead but then the answer is a message of busy
device:
[[root@coltrane /home/gillard]# insmod ppa
/lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/ppa.o: init_module: Périphérique ou ressource occupé
[[root@coltrane /home/gillard]#
I should add that I have nothing else than my Iomega zip on the
parallel port, using an ethernet card for printing via a local net.
So question: how to see which process is using the port,
or is it conveniently installed?
(I already tried insmod parport_pc io=0x378 irq=7 or variants with the same
answer)
Thanks in advance...
