Hello,
as my old amiga computer broke down recently, I am focussing the
problem, that I have to read out data from a transient recorder with an
other computer system. The transient recorder interface offers 8 data
lines, some control and status lines. So I thought about using a
pc-parport and linux to solve the problem.
In the web I read about the new development of the ppdev in the new
linux kernel. The access of the parport through ioctl seemed quite
straightforward.
However my small test program has problems with ioctl requests
PPRCONTROL, PPDATADIR, PPWDATA.
PPFCONTROL in contrast worked.
I'm using the 2.3.99-pre8 Kernel. PPDEV is compiled as module. Actual
BIOS Setting is EPP.
My experience in linux-C/C++ programming is rather small. Could anyone
tell me, whether the way I want to solve the problem could run in
principle or whether I'm totally running in a wrong direction?
Stefan
