Hi,
feel free to apply and test this patch:
http://home.t-online.de/home/0531896113/superio5-lx2399p9.diff
This detects your on-board super-IO chipset
and reports on the parallel port configuration
(at least it tries, as it is not well tested yet).
It eases your parallel port configuration, as it
detects irq and dma automatically (if feasible)
with "insmod parport_pc irq=auto dma=auto".
It helps perhaps on user bug reports because we get all
the information about the configuration (e.g. ECP mode,
EPP version, etc.)
Don't forget to enable the right option before
compiling:
"SuperIO chipset support (EXPERIMENTAL) =YES"
Changes to superio4a:
- Improve verbose detection of Nat Semi 871xx,873xx
- patch against linux-2.3.99-pre9
- minor cleanups
Regards, Gunther
