    I haven't been inside the BIOS yet, but I've been told it's possible
    that the BIOS has a setting of "Enhanced Parallell Port" and that I
    should set it over to be a regular parallell port.

    Is "Enhanced Parallell Port" a concept common to many machines/BIOSes?
    Or is this something specific to Digital PCs?

    I grepped the parport source (kernel 2.2.10) for "-i enhanced" without
    getting any matches.
