    I was told by the windows-driver writers that they could get about
    800kbyte per second with a special DMA transfer mode in their parport
    webcam driver. Though looking at the windows-code that must be for a
    special chip-set. I can sort out the ID if you like. I was never able
    to get more than the 500kb you quote on my asus-onboard parport.
