    Hi,

    I have got a little problem with my printer setup under 2.4-test4:

    CONFIG_PARPORT=y
    CONFIG_PARPORT_PC=y
    CONFIG_PRINTER=y

    Upon booting, parport_pc finds both parallel ports (0x378,0x278) but
    then I get:

    driver loaded but no devices found

    The same happens when I compile these things as modules with the
    following enties in /etc/conf.modules:

    alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
    options parport_pc io=0x378,0x278 irq=none,none
    alias char-major-6 lp

    In syslog I get:

    lp: driver loaded but no devices found

    It also happens if I add

    options lp parport=0,1

    to /etc/conf.modules. I have got one onboard port (0x378) and one on an
    external 2xserial / 1par card. The same setup (with modules) works quite
    well on 2.2.16

    Any help is appreciated,

    Christian Ospelkaus
