I'm running Mandrake 7.0 on an AMD k6-2 400mhz with 64 meg ram on a dual
boot w/W98SE and I'm trying to install a Zip 100 Model# ZIP100P2. In
other words, your basic parallel port zip drive. I've been trying to
get an answer to this problem for 6 mos. and no one seems to be able to
answer it.
When I run modprobe -v ppa or imm I get the following:
For imm I get:
/sbin/insmod -L /lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/misc/parport.o
/sbin/insmod -L /lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/imm.o
/sbin/insmod -L /lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/imm.o:init_module:device
or resource busy
parport:device or resource busy
For ppa I get:
/sbin/insmod -L /lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/ppa.o
/sbin/insmod -L /lib/modules/2.2.14-15mdk/scsi/ppa.o:init_module:device
or resource busy
parport:device or resource busy
I also got the same error when attempting to install on the same system
running Red Hat 6.1. and Storm Linux 2000.
So what's the problem, how do I solve it, and how do I get my zip drive
to work. If I can't get my zip drive to work soon I'm going to have to
scrap Linux and go back to the evil empire of Microshaft to use my
system.
