Yes you're right... :-)
But anyway, with this usage I burn cd's
both readable from solaris and windows ( besides linux of course..) without
any truncation in filenames..
# mkisofs -R -J <source_dir> | cdrecord -v speed=2 dev=0,0,0 -data -

please read the man page of cdrecord & mkisofs. It seems that you may have
misunderstood things.
