Hi folks!
I'm having this problem when insmod'ing the modules after a successful
compilation under linux 2.2.17:
# insmod ftape ft_fdc_driver=bpck-fdc,none,none,none
# insmod zftape
# modprobe parport
# modprobe parport_pc io=0c3bc irq=7 dma=3
# insmod bpck-fdc
Using /lib/modules/2.2.17/misc/bpck-fdc.o
bpck-fdc.c: bpck_fdc_register @ 0xc411a4c4
parport0: unable to get hardware to register bpck fdc (ftape).
parport0: unable to get hardware to register bpck fdc (ftape).
parport0: unable to get hardware to register bpck fdc (ftape).
parport0: unable to get hardware to register bpck fdc (ftape).
I've attached a copy of the syslog (shortened a little to save space).
Parport seems unable to find the ditto (or the parallel port hardware?).
Before you start burning your brains let me tell you that I didn't find
the original data cable of the ditto and replaced it with a home-made
straight-thru cable (25 cables: 1 to 1, 2 to 2, ..., 25 to 25), as when
looking for information on this topic, all
oriented me into this. This configuration works well under windoze and I
kept trying pretty hard to make this
to work but I couldn't.
I thanks in forward. Bye.
