I've installed Red Hat 7.1 distribution on my PC (with kernel 2.4.2-2 as
Tim Waugh told me to). I've got a Oxford PCI card, that at first was not
supported by parport's driver. I load parport_pc module just after
installing this new distribution, and it works fine. Of course it didn't
find my card nor made my card works. I try installing the patch I found
in Tim's page to give support to this card. But now when I call modprobe
in order to load the module, the computer freezes down (the keyboard and
the mouse are blocked, and I have to restart it manually).
In dmessg I've found this:
request_module[parport_lowlevel]: Root fs not mounted
lp: driver loaded but no devices found
....
ppdev: user-space parallel port driver
I have installed the kudzu's application. At boot time, when kudzu is
called it freeze the computer down too. It seems that it recognize the
card and try to load parport_pc module and then the computer comes to a
"funny" freeze down.
When I make:

Could somebody help me? I need to put this card to work. Thanks in advance.
If you need some other piece of information just tell me.
Ronnie.
