Yes, it is.
Maybe I can give you more details about my configuration:
I'm running RedHat 7.2 (I still doesn't have upgraded the kernel, so that the
version is 2.4.7-10) on a AMD K6-2 300.
I've recompiled the kernel including parport and ppdev in the kernel and
setting CONFIG_PARPORT_1284 on.
The EPP port is embedded in the PC Chips M577 motherboard (award bios).
