In order to be able to perform backups on my redhat 7.0 laptop, I purchased
a backpack cdrw which is connected to my parallel port. the port is set to
EPP.
I download the backpack driver package for my kernel (2.2.16-22) and used
the install script first. It said something broke.
Next I tried the manual installition. when I ran
depmod -a
I get the following error...
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.2.16-22/misc/backpack.o
so I tried insmod backpack
I got...
/lib/modules/2.2.16-22/misc/backpack.o: unresolved symbol pi_register
/lib/modules/2.2.16-22/misc/backpack.o: unresolved symbol pi_unregister
so I tried installing the devices seperately...
insmod pcd
Using /lib/modules/2.2.16-22/misc/pcd.o
/lib/modules/2.2.16-22/misc/pcd.o: unresolved symbol pi_release
/lib/modules/2.2.16-22/misc/pcd.o: unresolved symbol pi_do_claimed

/lib/modules/2.2.16-22/misc/pcd.o: unresolved symbol pi_read_regr

hmmm, maybe paride isnt there...
