I purchased a Backpack cd-rw device about 6 months ago, but just got
around to trying it on a redhat 7.2 (upgraded from 7.0). I wanted
to
use software like xcdroast. After going through a number of
documents,
etc., I have managed to "see" it correctly. But I can't seem to be
able
to
"mount" it. Obviously I must be doing something wrong.
I did the following:
modprobe paride
modprobe bpck6
modprobe pg
"dmesg" gives the following, which seems to be all fine based on
what I
have read:
paride: version 1.06 installed (parport)
bpck6: BACKPACK Protocol Driver V2.0.2
bpck6: Copyright 2001 by Micro Solutions, Inc., DeKalb IL. USA
paride: bpck6 registered as protocol 0
pg: pg version 1.02, major 97
parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [PCSPP,TRISTATE,EPP]
parport0: cpp_daisy: aa5500ff(38)
parport0: assign_addrs: aa5500ff(38)

>From what I read, I am supposed to mount it next using something
like:
mount /dev/pg0 /mnt/parcdrw (/mnt/parcdrw is rwxrwxr-x)
But I get this back:
mount: /dev/pg0 is not a block device
I have tried mounting with all sorts of different things like ext2,
iso9660, but to no avail.
I hope you can help me.
Thanks.
