I am sitting here with the device our hardware guru made,
coupled to the port. The port is ECP, and the device is EPP,
and I cannot get anything to work, and have hanged the machine
several times, using outb() commands and similar.

Having read stuff from the web through several days, I am more
    confused than informed.

So, how can I make a simple userland program that communicates with
our prototype EPP device? I am sitting at an Dell Inspiron 4100 which
do not have an EPP modus in BIOS, so I use ECP instead.

    Help, please!
