OK, that's your got to be your problem then. You need the bpck6 module!

Building a kernel is not that much work, but getting it "right the first
    time"
might be. There are only 5 commands needed to build a kernel

The tedious part is selecting all the options in "make xconfig" which is the
GUI version (opposed to make menuconfig). You need to select all the stuff
you want in your kernel, and make sure you select the correct processor.

Then you need to copy it over to /boot (different name) and add an entry in
/etc/lilo.conf. If you forget to choose a few options, you old kernel will
    be there,
to use. This assumes you are using a later version of the sources than
    currently
running, as your loadable modules will be put in a directory named after
    the
    version.

If you do build a kernel, you will gain a lot of performance, as you will
    not need
to include a bunch of stuff that is in the default kernel.

    * If you are running the kernel that came with the distribution, there is
    probably
someone out there, that has a bpck6 module that would work for you. But I
suspect it will be hard to find someone, and thus I would suggest building a
    kernel.

I would try asking on the #mandrake IRC channel, you may get lucky...

    John
