Was the original poster referring to PARPORT or PARIDE ? The HP7100e is an
epat-based parallel port CD-RW drive. Presumably the poster tried PARIDE.

The patches that have been coming out here are to PARPORT - a different
subsystem that has long been part of the official kernel source tree.

The PARIDE beta test did not use the PARPORT code, so the patches appearing
here were not relevant to it.

What I need to do is to provide a 'pg' driver with the same interface as
the 'sg' driver. It's on my to-do list. Once that's done, you should be
able to use the same software for SCSI, ATAPI or parallel-ATAPI CD-R(W)
drives.
