This is probably slightly off-topic, but anyway;
I coudn't get 106 to compile either, until I added Alan Cox' patch. I
can't remember where I found it, but it was called "patch-2.1.106-ac1". I
found a link to it from Freshmeat.net (a few days back). Maybe it does the
trick for you too.
