I remember seeing an announcement on c.o.l.a a while ago (probably 2 months
ago) where someone had created a bunch of monitoring utilities to drive a
parallel-port LCD device. There were options to monitor CPU load, memory usage,
and other nifty things (and even cycle through these options at periodic
intervals). I can't remember the package name though.
