Don't tell me, I know. The problem is that Redhat comes with a
preconfigured kernel that has CONFIG_MODVERSIONS enabled. ftape (the
separate ftape-3.x and ftape-4.x distributions) detects the
MODVERSIONS stuff automatically but then doesn't find the
modversions.h file which indeed is automatically generated. BTW, also
".config" is automatically generated, did you know?
