Hi all,

Sorry if this isn't exactly the right forum for this, but I did see some
similar messages in the archive. If there's a better place to ask this,
let me know.

I've got a Ricoh MP6200A ATAPI parallel port CD-RW drive on my Linux
system (2.1.131). The drivers (epat, parport, pg, etc.) all seem to
work ok. As a matter of fact, I've written several CDs successfully.
However, I seem to get more failures than successes. Below is the
output from my latest attempt (this is starting to get expensive!)

As you can see, I have speed set to 0, although I've tried 2x and it has
worked. The driver apparently comes up with a delay of 1 by default.
I've tried setting it to zero, no difference. Even with it set to 1, 2x
writing has succeeded. There seems to be no correlation between the
settings and the failures. I can't believe I've had that many bad CD-R
discs. Oh, and writing the same data on CD-RW discs works fine, and
using -dummy mode has never failed (this is with cdrecord, of course)
What's your diagnosis? I'm leaning toward a bad CD-RW drive at this
point.
