What do you have in /etc/printcap? Unless you've changed it, it will be
trying to use /dev/lp1.
With Linux 2.2, your printer defaults to /dev/lp0. Try booting the kernel
with "lp=none,parport0" on the command line if you have lp compiled in
(not as a module).
