There shouldn't be any problem with this, as far as the Linux PARIDE drivers
are concerned. You may have some mechanical or electrical issues, but
the software won't care.

In fact, I've never actually seen a real 7100e (or any of its cousins).
The software you are using was actually developed in pieces - the epat
module was developed mainly on a SyQuest EZ-135 and the pg module was
developed using a Mitsumi CD-R in a backpack case. (Only Joerg's
cdrecord actually knows anything about the CD-RW drive ...)

Modularity to the max :-)
