[PARPORT] Little off-subject (kernel problems)

I know this isn't what this mailing list is for. But I am at wits end.
If anyone has encountered this problem with Linux could you help me. I
have tried everything and cannot figure it out.

After I compiled the 2.2.1 kernel when LILO boots is says somthing like
this:
loading linux.........................................OK
uncompressing kernel..........................OK

Ran out of input data

--System halted

What causes this. I am running a network server so I would like it
working again. I have an alternate kernel image through LILO but I need

a driver in 2.2.1. I have RH 5.2.
