Really dumb question - is there a CD in the drive ? I got this error with
an EPAT CD drive, but it worked with a CD in there. Grant is still
scratching his head over that, I imagine !

Also, try loading with 'insmod pcd verbose=1' and post the messages here
(they will probably go to the console window).
