Please take a look at 2.3.3 patched with
<URL:ftp://ftp.torque.net/pub/parport/patch-2.3.3-tmw1.gz>. It has
another EPP detection method. You could try back-porting it to 2.2 and
see if that makes any difference.

There's currently no way of forcing parport_pc to believe that a port has
a particular mode, although perhaps there should be.
