My first day on the list and I get an anouncement about exactly what I
was looking for.
beta Drivers for my old epst.c (Syquest SyJet)...with scsi emulating
on a parport...
sigh....the only bad part is...it is WAAAAAAAAAAYYY over my head...
I was up to just compiling the old epst.c...and epst.h files...then
using
insmod epst.o
then
mount -t msdos /dev/sda1 /mnt/syquest
But this beta driver thing asks me to patch the kernel it took me all
weekend just to
compile correctly...
I do finally have paride and parport in the kernel...and epat...don't
suppose there is a way
I can get them to work with the SyJet?
On boot i get these messages...
parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [SPP,ECP,ECPPS2]
parport0: no IEEE-1284 device present.
paride: epat registered as protocol 0
pd: pd version 1.05, major 45, cluster 64, nice 0
pg: pg version 1.02, major 97
pg0: Autoprobe failed
pg: No ATAPI device detected
pda: Autoprobe failed
pd: no valid drive found
------------------
When I insmod paride and epat....
then try to mount pda........it says /dev/pda has wrong major or minor
number......???
I'm flailing wildly I know....:)
Any help would be appreciated...
