It seems that the printing problem has gone away after installing the 2.2.10
kernel. But the ppa problem still remains...
(Even after installing ppa_2_05).
I think that has something to do with parport or my zip-drive. This is what
dmesg says:

parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [SPP,EPP,ECP,ECPEPP,ECPPS2]
parport0: no IEEE-1284 device present.
ppa: Version 2.05 (for Linux 2.2.x)
WARNING - no ppa compatible devices found.
  As of 31/Aug/1998 Iomega started shipping parallel
  port ZIP drives with a different interface which is
  supported by the imm (ZIP Plus) driver. If the
  cable is marked with "AutoDetect", this is what has
  happened.
