detected? It's starting to look like parport_pc hasn't found your port.
Which kernel did you say you were running, again?

Try booting with 'parport=0xBBB' on the command line, where 0xBBB is the
base address of your port. With 2.2.9/10, you should get a diagnostic
message about why it doesn't think there's a port there.
