[PARPORT] problems with ppscsi (HP Officejet 1170)

Hi,

I am trying to experiment with 0.91 version of the ppSCSI drivers.
I am trying to talk to a HP scanner (Office Jet 1170) on my parallel
port. I am *assuming* that epst is the correct driver, since other
HP scanners have been reported to work with that driver.

Im have patched 2.2.11 kernel with the ppSCSI-0.91 patch.

When I try to install the epst module I get an error message:

/lib/modules/2.2.11/scsi/epst.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
scsi_mod: Device or resource busy

Is the above the modules way of telling me my assumptions are
way off base (IE, my OJ1170 doesn't have the Shuttle EPST parallel
to SCSI converter thingy in it ;) Or am I missing a clue on how
these modules work together?

Another strange data point is that after trying (and failing) to install
the epst module, the ppscsi module has been removed.... I found that
weird.

Thank for any pointers!
E
