This brings up an interesting point... Isn't a bidirectional parallel port
a port that has the ability to read as well as write, whereas a
unidirectional port one who can only write?

QuickCam doesn't need a bidirectional port. But I've never managed to get
either of my cams to work on a UDB either, I must admit.
