[PARPORT] Brother multifunction machines

Hi. I'm looking to replace my crappy inkjet printer with a laser.
Brother makes some very inexpensive multifunction machines -- $200 for
a printer/fax/copier/scanner/answering machine.

Of course, they only support Windows, and mail from their site
indicates that they only ever *plan* to support Windows.

Is anyone even working on Linux support for Brother multifunction
boxes?
