I'm having a couple of problems with my Delkin e-Film reader
(CompactFlash card reader). Unless I boot the system in Win95 before
rebooting to Linux, paride fails to see the device. (Some kind of
initialization that the Windows driver performs?)
During boot (after first booting to windows 95) :-
pda: Sharing parport0 at 0x378
pda: epat 1.01, Shuttle EPAT chip c7 at 0x378, mode 5 (EPP-32), delay 1
pda: DELKIN DEVICES, master, 62976 blocks [30M], (492/4/32), removable
media
Secondly, once I can see the device, I get the following messages when I
mount it (mount /dev/pda1 /mnt) :-
/dev/pda1: Input/output error
and see in dmesg:
pda: Lock done: status = 0x451 = ERR SEEK READY ABRT
pda: do_pd_read: status = 0x451 = ERR SEEK READY ABRT
pda: do_pd_read: status = 0x451 = ERR SEEK READY ABRT
pda: do_pd_read: status = 0x451 = ERR SEEK READY ABRT
pda: do_pd_read: status = 0x451 = ERR SEEK READY ABRT
pda: do_pd_read: status = 0x451 = ERR SEEK READY ABRT
pda: do_pd_read: status = 0x451 = ERR SEEK READY ABRT
end_request: I/O error, dev 2d:01 (PD), sector 2
pda: Lock: status = 0x451 = ERR SEEK READY ABRT
pda: Lock: status = 0x451 = ERR SEEK READY ABRT
VFS: Disk change detected on device pd(45,1)
pda: DELKIN DEVICES, master, 62976 blocks [30M], (492/4/32), removable
media
pda: pda1
Even though I get these mounting errors, I am able to use the device.
My system is a AMD K6-2 / 450, Parrallel port is set to EPP/SPP.
Any ideas?
