    hai ,
        Thanx for ur advice. I've able to find the find the io address and
    irq no. of my m/c. But yet found difficult in configuring the printer.
        The configuration i've tried is as given:
    1. insmod parport.o
    2. insmod parport_pc.o io=0x378 irq=7
            after this the printer gets activated.
    3. insmod parport_probe.o
            after this probe the files are as below:
                /proc/parport/0/autoprobe:
                            CLASS:PRINTER;
                            MODEL:HP DeskJet 200;
                            MANUFACTURER:Hewlett-Packard;

               /proc/parport/0/devices: (nothing in this file)

                /proc/parport/0/hardware:
                            base: 0x378
                            irq: 7
                            dma: none
                            modes: SPP,PS2
                /proc/parport/0/irq:
                            7
    4. insmod lp.o parport=0
    5. Next i've did trying printtool

    When i try to print the testpage in printtool, its printing only one
    line.
    if i give some other text file for printing also its the same problem.
    i've tried cat test > /dev/lp0 and lpr test.
    Both giving same results.
    Pl advice,
    ..............................................................Cheers,
    Murali
