When I transfer a huge file(s) to my parallel ZIP-drive (mounted @
/dev/sda4) the systems starts behaving freaky when the transfer reaches
+- 6 Meg. It (the system) becomes slow, when I move with my mouse it
(the pointer) shocks, the transferspeed drops down hugly, and my whole
system starts working @ snailspeed. Nevertheless the transfer will
continue, and after a (long) while the file is copied. Unmounting the
ZIP-drive also takes a long time if a huge file was placed onto it.
I recompiled my kernel with several other entries (make xconfig), but
the problem stayed.
The same options with kernel 2.2.15 gave no problems.
For the record, I have an external Parallel Port ZIP100-drive. I use ppa
(no 'AUTODETECT' on my cable) compiled in the kernel.
