My parallel port works most of the time but occasionally it stops
functioning and the following appears in the log:
Dec 23 18:18:55 ozob kernel: parport0: No more nibble data (0 bytes)
Dec 23 18:19:35 ozob last message repeated 4 times
Dec 23 18:20:45 ozob last message repeated 7 times
Dec 23 18:21:55 ozob last message repeated 7 times
Dec 23 18:23:05 ozob last message repeated 7 times
Dec 23 18:24:15 ozob last message repeated 7 times
...
This requires a reboot to clear (not desireable).
The parallel port in BIOS is set to ECP.
The contents of /procsys/dev/parport/parport0/modes is:
PCSPP,TRISTATE,COMPAT,ECP
Kernel configuration:
# Parallel port support

CONFIG_PARPORT=y
CONFIG_PARPORT_PC=y

# CONFIG_PARPORT_AMIGA is not set

# CONFIG_PARPORT_ATARI is not set
# CONFIG_PARPORT_SUNBPP is not set
# CONFIG_PARPORT_OTHER is not set

I have an HP Color Laserjet 4500 connected to the parallel port.
