    I issue the following commands:

    modprobe paride
    modprobe epat
    modprobe pg

and my CD writer starts blinking and everything looks
good and I find this in my dmesg log:

    paride: version 1.04 installed
paride: epat registered as protocol 0
pg: pg version 1.02, major 97
    parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [SPP,PS2,EPP]
    parport_probe: failed
    parport0: no IEEE-1284 device present.
    pg0: Sharing parport0 at 0x378
    pg0: epat 1.01, Shuttle EPAT chip c6 at 0x378, mode 5
    (EPP-32), delay 1
    pg0: HP CD-Writer+ 7200, slave

    Again everything looks good.

    When I type:

    cdrecord -scanbus

    I get this:

The same info appears under setup in X-CD-Roast.

When I try to record a CD using xcdroast it gives the
message "Error writting tracks" and the drive doesn't
blink or act like it is even getting any message. I'm
wondering if the message to record is going to the
wrong place on my SCSI chain. Earlier in my dmesg log
    I find the following entry:

Detected scsi generic sg2 at scsi0, channel 0, id 4,
    lun 0
ncr53c876-0-<4,*>: device did not report SYNC.

The "scsi generic sg2 at scsi0, channel 0, id 4, lun
0" is my HP 7200. But cdrecord and xcdroast are
    seeing my HP 7200 at scsi2, channel 2 , id 0, lun 0.
I'm not sure why my system sees the HP 7200 at 0, 4, 0
that is actually my processor's address. Any help
that could be given would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I'm running RH 7.0 on a Toshiba Magnia
    3010 server.
